In the introduction to the Wisdom Way of Knowing, Cynthia Bourgeault explains that the purpose of the book is to introduce us to the Wisdom tradition as a clear vision of human purpose and to show us how to use the teachings of Wisdom to transform our own life. She says that this book is for anyone who is searching for a deeper meaning in their life which their own belief system has not provided. Furthermore, she provides us with the “tools of Wisdom”, practices that will awaken our whole being to the Ultimate Reality.
In this course, we will read The Wisdom Way of Knowing, a chapter a week, in a contemplative manner, seeking insight, wisdom, and guidance for our spiritual journey. We will spend our time together in class sharing our insights, reflections, and responses to the reading. In addition to engaging with the reading, we will have two class sessions (March 20 & May 1) devoted entirely to Wisdom practices. These two sessions will be facilitated by Heather Ruce and Joy Andrews Hayter who are both experienced teachers of Wisdom practices and Centering Prayer.
Note: This class requires the purchase of The Wisdom Way of Knowing by Cynthia Bourgeault.
